I’m Alex. Cleveland, a regular job, and more movie tickets than the schedule really supports.

This is where I write about what I watch. Repertory at the Cinematheque when there’s something worth the drive, the couch the rest of the time, usually later at night than I planned. Everything gets logged, including the ones I have nothing smart to say about.

I’m not a critic in any credentialed sense. I didn’t study this, nobody sends me screeners, and I’ve never once been able to tell you what a film objectively is. What I can tell you is what it was like to sit in front of it — whether the drive home was quiet, whether I was still thinking about it on Wednesday, whether the thing everybody praises is actually the best thing in it.

No stars and no scores. A number is just a way of not finishing the sentence.
